“The tears we all shed and the forgiveness that was given.” No. Not just no, but ‘aww hell naw, someone hold my earrings’ kind of no. Your son committed heinous crimes against your daughters. Crimes, not mistakes. You don’t get to decide the punishment for crimes. In fact, you two are criminals as well and should be held accountable. If my hypothetical kid murdered someone, I don’t get to decide their punishment. A fourteen year old knows better than to fondle his sleeping sisters. A fourteen knows better than to touch his five year old sister’s genitals. Arkansas tries and sentences fourteen year old to death or life in prison. Should they be released because their crimes were committed as a minor and they’ve asked God for forgiveness? What gives Michelle and Jim Bob the right to be judge and jury as to the felonies perpetrated against their daughters? The fact that the parents did NOTHING (besides beat the daylights our of Josh apparently) for an entire year. It obviously continued because it was only then that Jim Bob brought Josh to the kiddy porn police officer who, by his own admission with nothing to gain, admitted that he was told Josh had touched his sister one time. Jim Bob and Michelle were conspirators and we’re complicit in the molestation of their daughters.
Jim Holt, whose daughter has long been rumored to have been betrothed at one point to Josh, was an ordained Baptist minister and one of the elders in the church the Duggars attended. He was a mandated reporter and by law should have gone to the police. That in and of itself is a felony in the (not so) great state of Arkansas. The depth of this cover up continues to go deeper and darker.

Jim Bob likes to brag that his parents dabbled in real estate. That’s an odd story too. According to public docs, Mary Duggar aka Grandma Duggar, got into real estate in the mid 80’s where she suddenly started handing out mortgages to people out of the blue to the tune of almost $50k. Where in the hell does someone get $46k to hand out? Was she running a buy-here-pay-mortgage biz where she was collecting an insane amount of interest from people who couldn’t otherwise get a bank loan? Surely not because the bible clearly says in Exodus, “If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be like a moneylender to him, and you shall not exact interest from him.” Grandma Duggar was just totes doing nice things for people. Right? Right? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?

Fast forward to post (supposedly, because do we really believe he stopped?) molestation when Josh sued the Arkansas Department of Health as a minor.
Even though Springdale, Arkansas police closed their investigation into Duggar in 2006, they still referred the case to the Families in Need of Services agency, which brought in the Department of Human Services. Ninth months into the DHS’s investigation, Duggar sued the agency, resulting in a trial in 2007.
The results of the DHS’s investigation and the findings at the trial are both sealed, but an anonymous source close to the case told “In Touch” that Duggar likely “appealed the DHS decision or findings from their investigation,” and noted that depending on what those findings were, it’s possible that the DHS applied “restrictions or stipulations about him being at home with the victims.”
“Josh would be considered an in-home offender, giving DHS the authority to do an investigation. As part of your appeal rights you can request a DHS hearing to challenge what they found and their ruling,” the anonymous source added.
When contacted by “In Touch,” lawyers for the Duggars refused to comment on the investigation, the lawsuit, the trial, or any possible restrictions placed upon Josh.

In 2006 Josh would have been an adult. In 2007, the same year as the trial, Grandma Duggar purchased the now highly recognizable home on Porter Road.
She purchased the home from Michelle’s father, Garrett Ruark, who was living in Ohio for well over value when all other records show a pattern of buying homes under priced. Why did Mary Duggar purchase a house from Josh’s maternal grandfather, a house that backs up to an interstate for so much cash? Jim Bob has said on multiple episodes that his parents were terrible with money. So where did Grandma Dugger get $100k in 2007?

2007 must have been a very active year in the Duggar home. Josh had a trial and the outcome is currently sealed. However, in 2007 Josh was given a car dealership, a house was purchased for him, he started courting Anna which resulted in their engagement in early 2008 and marriage in September of that same year.

Preach, o’ wise fundie, Dan Dillard. First of all, he (like his in law, Child Molester Josh Duggar©, former director of FRCAction – a hate group) works for The Boy Scouts of America who actively discriminate against gays. That tells you a lot.
Second, what the hell man? Just because someone claims to be Christian™, doesn’t absolve them from justice or even decency. Every person sitting on death row has probably found some sort of magical holy man. Should we let all of the child molesters, rapists, and murders go free because God has forgiven them?

The Washington Post published an article a few days ago outlining the supposed timeline of events surrounding the molestation of their daughters at the hands of their eldest son, Josh Duggar, former director of FRCAction. I say “supposed timeline of events because their history tells us that their version of the truth oftentimes does not parallel reality. (For example, the officer serving time for child pornography – who has nothing to gain – stated that Jim Bob’s account to him was that it was a one time “mistake”, not a reoccurring events with his siblings, one of which was approximately five years old at the time.)
Here’s another instance where Michelle and Jim Bob’s can’t keep their stories together: Jim Bob claimed that Josh received counseling. Michelle contradicted Jim Bob (I wonder if she got sent to the prayer closet for that?) and stated that Josh received no counseling and was sent to “a guy they knew in Little Rock” to remodel a building. Sounds ridiculous, and on the surface you’d think that it was relatively harmless. (Although the jackass should have been in juvenile detention remodeling his cell while the courts decided he could be tried for his felonies as an adult, in my opinion. But hey this is Arkansas and everyone is in Jim Bob’s wallet… I meant pocket.)
Now for those of you who followed my fakejoshduggar instagram of old, you know the particulars of the Bill Gothard (and I love that my autocorrect changes Gothard to ‘Got hard’) and his insane ATI/IBLP cult. Legit cult… before they scrubbed the internet, the application forms for ATI used to be online and a family would have to submit their bank records for review to make sure the families weren’t doing anything worldly like going to the movies. Secular movies are strictly forbidden in case you were wondering.
What you might’ve missed in the media is that Hobby Lobby donated a building in Little Rock to Bill Gothard/IBLP/ATI. There was some political wrangling with former Governor and current GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee and Bill Gothard that would have allowed unsuspecting judges to send wayward teens to the ATI cult facility as a rehabilitation center of sorts. That building that Josh went to work on with some guy the Duggars knew? The building was none other than the Hobby Lobby building donated to Gothard. Did the head of ATI/IBLP who was outed for his own sexual misconduct counsel Josh Duggar? Perhaps Bill gave Josh tips on how to not get caught since Gothard went some thirty odd years doing similar atrocities to minors without deserved punishment.
The political atmosphere in Arkansas is thick with the old boys club mentality. In this case, it’s an Old Boys Club© who have no problem doing whatever is necessary to hide the admitted fact that the Duggar daughters (and one unnamed minor) were being sexually preyed upon by the future golden boy, Josh. This, guys, is the family that holds themselves up to be epitome of morality,.purity,and virtue.

From the comments I’ve read, it seems that somehow homosexuality is being conflated with incest and child molestation. Please stop. As parents who will have a grandchild growing up with intimate access to a confessed incest/child molester, it is with great worry that I respond to your post.
The facts from the police report, and later admitted to in a public statement, are clear. Josh Duggar committed incest and child molestation with four of his sisters and one other minor. If the account of his age is reliable, he was approximately 15 when he crept into the room where his sisters were sleeping and fondled them while they were sleeping. He molested one victim in the laundry room by pulling up her dress, finding pants he pulled those down, and fondled his sister’s genitals. According to the report given by the Duggar parents and victims, he molested his ~5 year old sister while she sat on his lap reading a book. This was not a mistake or lack of judgement or an error. While you may think of this as just a sin, it was also a CRIME. It was a crime went unreported until the Oprah show contacted the authorities and still, there was no punishment. The Duggars would not even produce Josh for questioning, even though no legal recourse could be taken because the statute of limitations had expired.
As some of your commenters have posted, it’s not our place to judge, but I assert that it is our place. We judge child molesters who commit incestuous crimes against their victims all the time. The blame falls directly on Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar for not protecting their daughters by alerting the authorities immediately and having a jury sentence him according to the laws that all other convicted child molesters are subjected.
Michelle Duggar admits in the police report that Josh Duggar did not receive any counseling and was sent away for several months to help a family friend with remodeling a home. Who is to say that the compulsion to molest his younger siblings stopped? It was a full year from the first reporting that Jim Bob had an officer give Josh a stern talking to; by which that officer turned out to be a predator in his own right who is serving in prison for child pornography. The statistics on predatory incest/child molestation are overwhelming in support that without intense counseling and removal from the victims, these crimes do not stop. The perpetrators just get savvy in keeping their assaults a secret.
In closing, I implore you to reconsider your stance. For the sake of you daughter-in-law and your future grandchild, please condemn Josh’s actions for the egregious crimes they are. Encourage the victims to seek professional counseling with someone trained in incest abuse. To denounce Josh Duggar and advocate for a full investigation into any further molestation is the only Christian thing to do.
